Since 1984,
Vann Helms has championed the cause of artistic illumination for
downtown Miami. This screen offers a futuristic vision of a totally
lighted city, complete with lasers, fireworks, searchlights, and a
full "Moon Over Miami". Bayside Marketplace dominates the
foreground, with Biscayne Bay reflecting the vibrancy of a glowing
metropolis. The large screen was displayed under the Florida Capitol
Rotunda in Tallahassee in 1998. It was also made into posters to
commemorate that event, as well as posters to mark the inauguration of
Governor Jeb Bush in 1999.
